Drugs

Weed

Cannabis comes from the hemp plant and comes as a drug in two forms, weed and hashish. Hashish or hashish is the resin, which can range from almost liquid and oily to very hard. These variants are extracted from the flower tops (or rather seed pods) of this plant, at least – preferably – from the female, unfertilized plant (sinsemilla). Weed or marijuana comes from the green-brown buds of the plant. The chemical compound that affects human consciousness is tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). Under criminal law in the Netherlands, cannabis and products derived from it are considered soft drugs; in many other countries no distinction is made between soft and hard drugs and there are strict penalties. Medicinal cannabis is used by some people for medical reasons. Like alcohol, driving on public roads with THC in the blood is a crime under the Road Traffic Act.

Cocaine

Cocaine , or benzoyl-methyl-ecgonine , also known as coke , is a stimulant drug belonging to the alkaloids. Cocaine is one of the drugs originally marketed as a medicine . It can be snorted, smoked, or injected. The mental consequences of cocaine ingestion include reduced contact with reality , euphoria and/or severe restlessness. Physical consequences include increased heart rate , perspiration, and dilated pupils . High doses can lead to increased blood pressure and body temperature . The effects appear a few seconds to a few minutes after ingestion and can last anywhere from five to ninety minutes

Ketamine

Ketamine is a dissociative anesthetic used medically for induction and maintenance of anesthesia. It is also used as a treatment for depression, a pain management tool, and sometimes as a recreational drug. Ketamine is a novel compound that was derived from phencyclidine in 1962, in pursuit of a safer anesthetic with fewer hallucinogenic effects.[

XTC

The chemical name MDMA stands for 3,4-methylenedioxymethamphetamine, an organic compound with the molecular formula C11H15NO2. MDMA and its related substances MDA, MMDA and MDEA are semi-synthetic compounds classified as psychostimulants and hallucinogens. MDMA is one of the most widely used synthetic drugs, especially in the electronic music subculture (particularly techno, trance, house, and hardcore), but it was also used in psychotherapy in the past. MDMA users do not experience any physical addiction and the psychologically addictive effect is less than cocaine or methamphetamine. Ecstasy, ecstasy or X is the street name for pills or powders that contain the substance MDMA, among other things. These tablets sometimes also contain substances other than MDMA, for example mCPP and PMMA. The substance MDMA has been on List 1 (hard drugs) of the Dutch Opium Act since 1988. MDMA is sold in its chemically purest possible form in the form of sand-colored crystals. The US street name for MDMA (crystal) is molly. MDMA was discovered and patented by Merck in 1912 and rediscovered in 1967 by Alexander Shulgin, a chemist from the University of California - Berkeley, who experimented extensively with the drug and developed similar amphetamines.

Heroine

Heroin, also known as diacetylmorphine and diamorphine among other names, is a potent opioid mainly used as a recreational drug for its euphoric effects. Medical grade diamorphine is used as a pure hydrochloride salt. Various white and brown powders sold illegally around the world as heroin are routinely diluted with cutting agents. Black tar heroin is a variable admixture of morphine derivatives—predominantly 6-MAM (6-monoacetylmorphine), which is the result of crude acetylation during clandestine production of street heroin. Heroin is used medically in several countries to relieve pain, such as during childbirth or a heart attack, as well as in opioid replacement therapy.[
